The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a globally recognized English language proficiency test for people who want to study, work or migrate to a country where English is the native language. This test is based on well-established standards, and covers the full range of assessments levels, providing an expended overlook of student’s language expertise. IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English


There are two main types of tests.

  • Academic IELTS:

The test covers the academic language skills and assesses whether you are ready to study at an undergraduate or postgraduate level. Students who wish to pursue higher education in an English-speaking country should opt for this test.

General Training IELTS:

The test aims to assess your proficiency in a practical and professional environment. Candidates aiming to work or immigrate to an English-speaking country should opt for this test.

Both of these tests cover four basic language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. The first two modules are the same for both of the test types while the later two modules are different.




You are separately awarded a band score out of 9 for each module and each module contributes 25% towards the overall band score (out of 9).

IELTS speaking and writing modules are marked on following criteria. Each of the below mentioned criteria holds 25% of the band score.

  • Task response
  • Coherence and cohesion
  • Lexical resource
  • Grammatical range and accuracy.

Each question in the Listening and Reading sections is worth one mark.


Usually results are available after 13 days of the paper based test and after 5 days of computer based test.


IELTS UKVI test is same as IELTS in marking criteria, test types and format. Those who wish to study, work or migrate to UK may take this test. The only difference will be on result transcripts as this test is approved by UK home office.


This test is only required by those wish to apply for UK immigration or spouse visa.

The test is of two types

  • Life skills A1:

Take this test if you wish to apply for UK spouse visa.

  • Life skills B1:

Take this test if you wish to apply for UK immigration visa.

The test format

This test covers basic language skills and includes only speaking and listening modules. This fairly easy compared to IELTS and offers no band score. You are grade as pass or fail.

Course details

Regular plan

It is one month course.

Monday to Thursday are days for the classes and Friday is a mock test day.

Class duration is of 2 hours. One hour for one teacher who will cover one module and second hour for second teacher for other module. Each week 2 modules are carry to make sure students have good command on them.

Timings are 3pm to 5pm, 6pm to 8pm and 7pm to 9pm

New classes start every Monday and Wednesday.

Fee is 2000 that includes course material as well given to you in class and home assignments.

There will be 2 to 4 teachers who will teach you this course.

4 weeks course plan

First week 2 modules (listening and reading)are explained with practice. Second week the remaining 2 modules (speaking and writing)are explained. Then in the third week further guided practice sessions are conducted to improve confidence and work on weak areas. Fourth week is to discuss issues and conduct mock tests.

Once students book the exam in near future or whenever, They are given further 3 days for free mock tests to work on time management and be confident for the exam.
