OVERVIEW
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized language proficiency test taken by aspirants of higher education in an English speaking environment. The test aims to analyze candidate’s ability to speak and understand English and assesses whether a student is prepare to take curriculums designed in English or not.
TOEFL is accepted worldwide as it is one of the major English language test alongside IELTS. Test centers are available in more 150 countries around the world and this test is trusted by thousands of universities and colleges.

FORMAT
TOEFL is offered in two formats:
- Internet-based test
- Paper-delivered test
A new format is introduced known as home-delivered test in which a human examiner monitors candidates through a web camera while they attempt the test from home. The test structure is exactly the same as the test taken on centers.
This test is based on Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing sections. Speaking section is replaced by a Structure and written expressions section in paper-delivered test where you have to attempt 15 questions of sentence completion and 25 questions of identifying errors.
HOW IS TOEFL SCORED?
An overall score is calculated as an average of all section’s score and offered from a score scale of 0-120.
Each section has a score range of 0-30. The reading and listening sections are checked using a computer whereas speaking and writing sections are checked by highly trained professionals plus artificial intelligence.
The results are available after 6 days of test date and are valid for two years.
