You recently took a two day course. The course organiser has asked you to send in your comments on the course.

Write a letter to the course organiser. In your letter

  • Give details of course you took
  • Describe which part of the course your found successful
  • Suggest some improvements to the course

Dear Sir,

I am writing you the letter to provide you my annotations regarding the course which I took on last weekend.

The course was “Customer Services Toolkit Program”. it is a two days program which consists of various topics, exercises and role plays. The course provides detailed information about customer handling, stress management, team handling skills, and negotiation skills.

I believe, the customer handling part was the most successful when delivered. All the mandatory details were given to the participants including eye to eye contact, communication life cycle, and handling irate customer walk-ins.

As a subject matter expert, I have observed few areas of opportunities, which can be used to improve the content of the course. Adding few more topics such as presentation skills, greeting with a smile, and enhancing your listening skills will make this course a hit. Furthermore, the duration can be extended to three days by adding some more group exercises and work outs which will enhance their skills further.

I hope my feedback will be fruitful for the course and will definitely enhance the essence of this course.

Best Regards,

Task 2: ESSAY

Nowadays, more and more people have consumers goods such as refrigerators and washing machines.
Does this development bring more advantageous or more disadvantageous?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.

Sample answer:

People have different views about the development and invention in the field of electrical appliances. According to some people, these gadgets are helping a lot to live a luxurious life however, not every individual thinks in a similar way. I’ll assess both the sides of this essay and give my verdict on this.

Electronic products such as microwave and other products are invented to bring ease in our life whereas; their contribution to landfill has raised many questions. Firstly, these products are made up of material which can’t be reused or recycled which leads them to end up somewhere on planet earth and cause natural life damages. For example, the huge chunk of landfills comes from products which are getting obsolete with the passage of time including old refrigerators, washing machines, microwave etc. these items had been thrown to jungles and causing disturbance for animals.

On the contrary, these inventions has brought many advantageous to the human life, also raised the bar of efficiency. Microwave is one of the examples as before microwave, conventional stoves use to take 15 to 20 minutes easily to warm your food and you need one person all the time to make sure your meal don’t burns off. A week ago, I was getting late for my work, and it took me only 3 minutes to prepare my breakfast by using microwave. Invention of these products certainly has resolved these issue as it take only few minutes to warm up your food without getting burnt.

Furthermore, handling concerns and level of engagement has dropped down dramatically. Newly touch system washing machines are one of the examples. These washing machines are smart enough to sense the quality of cloth and wash them accordingly by mixing hot and cold water without any assistance. All you need to do is to put detergent and click a button, that’s it. You can have your clean clothes dry and ready only in 30 minutes. No sun light required drying them out or no rubbing to take the stains out. Recently, my mother took her dress out to wear in party and realize the cleanliness of clothes are not up to the mark, there were only two hours left to begin the party and here comes a role of these smart washing machines. It took only 20 minutes to get the clean dress in hand and of course thanks to these consumer goods.

In conclusion, I personally belief that there are few disadvantageous of these household products but the level of comfort and affluence they brought to every single house is simply outstanding. Enhanced efficiency, less efforts and low dependency are the some of the gains.

Essay :

Nowadays, more and more people have consumer goods such as refrigerators and washing machines. Does this development bring more advantages or more disadvantages?

Sample Answer:

With the scientific growth in different sectors, the electronic and electrical items has replace the old traditional system of performing household tasks. In this essay I will discuss about the advantages and disadvantages, which are brought up by these inventions to the modern world.

To begin with, this advancement has bring some drawback in our lives. These consumer items has made human more dependent on machines as no physical efforts are required anymore. For instance, in the start of the twenty first century, the clothes were washed by hands, which require a lot of human efforts, now replaced by a washing machine, now we avoid washing out clothes by hands. Furthermore, the invention of air conditioning system has a major impact on the electricity bills we pay.

In contrast, no house is complete without these consumer goods, which are considered to be the basic necessities of life. The in-house tasks which took hours to complete can be done in few minutes now. To illustrate this, the invention of grinding machine has reduced the time of crushing the spices from hours to minutes.

Furthermore, it’s much more convenient for us to store our food and to keep it fresh for a longer period of time, for instance, the refrigerators are in use to freeze several food items at home, such as off seasonal fruits and vegetables, which can be used when required. In addition the use of washing machine’s dryer has enable the possibility to dry the wet cloths in a minute.

To conclude, the consumer goods in our houses are increasing with the expansion in technology, and we can see more and more items available in the market. These items has made human more dependent on machines however this disadvantage can be overruled by the advantages they are providing in our homes as they are more fast, convenient, and effortless.

Human beings don’t need to eat meat in order to maintain good health as they can get all their food needs from meatless products and meatless substitutes. A vegetarian diet is as healthy as a diet containing meat.
Now a days it has become talk of the town that how we can change our dietary habits. A major census believe that meat and diary products are responsible for much of modern deep diseases. A lot number of scientists argue that exclusively meat containing diets are causing heart disease, diabetes and even cancer.

I am in favor of vegetarian diet because of following reasons.
It is now evident by research that meat eaters develop obesity which later on lead to hypercholestrolemanian , ischemic heart disease and high blood pressure. Al these conditions not only affect quality of life but also cause motility. Gout is also caused by eating red meat. So it is not wise to risk our own heath and life just because of one finds it tastier than vegetables.

On the other hand, vegetables are a source of minerals and vitamins which are vital to life and health. Eating predominately vegetables in form of salads or dishes not only gives variety of menu but also help us keep fit. Protein which we obtain from meat can be substitute by pulses, grains and dry fruits.

Secondly, vegetables are budget friendly, it is easy to manage expenses reasonably by increasing vegetable proportion. In developing countries a family comprising of 6-8 persons an average can’t afford to eat meat daily.
Thirdly, people who are in the favor of eating meat products argue that it is necessary for growth and repair of body tissues. But growth is important for children and repair for patients with injuries or debilitating illness. So meat should be a major protein of children and sicks diets.

In conclusion if we want to prevent ourselves for suffering from modern day diseases and to avoid heavy expenses of hospitals and surgeries ,we should embrace the simple diet of our ancestors in vegetables.

It is generally believed that some people are born with certain talents , for instance, for music or sports and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sportsman or musician? Discuss both views and give your opinion?

    Sample Answer:

It is undeniable fact that every person has certain distinct and unique skill. Some are really good musicians, others are fabulous sports persons and remaining are skilled at other talents. There is a belief that individual abilities are inherited from parents to their offspring. Whereas, other argue that talents an be learned. Analyzing both aspects will be followed by my firm opinion.

Contenders, believing in born talent theory, argue that it has been proven by biologist that parents share certain abilities to their children. And this could be strengthened by environment. For instance, when a sport person give birth to a child he inherits his unique talent, which if provided by favorable surrounding(parents playing that sport combined by school games etc) can rise the talent, a kid is born with rapidly. Thus, they do not take a stand with learning theory of talent. Therefore, they work on the born talents of their offspring.

Nevertheless, These are people who hold an opinion that it is possible to learn a certain special ability. They think it is the strong desire to become something, which leads an ordinary person to unique skilled person. Moreover, this can be supported by people whose parents are ordinary but they themselves have become successful athletes, musicians etc. To illustrate, Sachin Tendulkar, whose, parents were no where in the sports at all but he developed an aim and become successful by working on it. Thus They teach or make their children learn certain abilities through academies or coaching.

To conclude, keeping in mind the hypothesis of paternity bestowed talent and teaching a talent, i would stand on prior belief. It is possible to teach an ability, but one cannot be very accurate and precise at it compared to those who already are born with that talent and provided the same kind of teaching.

Some people think that use of mobile phones should be banned in public places such as libraries, shops and on public transport.
To what extent do you agree?

Mobile phone technology has dominated so greatly on humans’ life during few past decades that almost everyone is using less or more cell phones. It has started a debate if we should use our technology driven appliances in public places or not. I completely disagree with this prohibition of mobile phone in places like libraries, shops or during travel, but certain rules can be followed while using these at mentioned locations.
Firstly, we can operate our cell phone in the library on keeping it on silent or vibrate mode, so that it doesn’t create intrusive situation for people who can be distracted. Secondly, nowadays, this appliance is not only for the purpose of messaging and calling, but it also contains a lot of other applications which are needed while studying at library. For example, offline dictionary for English learning students. So simply banning mobile phones in the library is not fair idea.
Moreover, since mobile phones are multi functional, one can enjoy the tedious travel in the public transport. For instance, it provides entertainment by listening songs, reading soft copy of any favorite book etc. Furthermore, the camera of phone can be turned on to take beautiful views in photographs for preserving that memory for the whole life. Therefore, forbidding this technology rich device in public transport can ruin the journey.
Lastly, mobile phones are very useful in case of emergencies such as road traffic accidents in public roads. Ban of all phones at these can be rather harmful than beneficial.
